If you have never noticed it, try clicking on the link and see what tips blogger wants to tell you. You can always find some useful tips on blogging, like the one on the picture below.

I also learn quite few tips from the links provided by blogger.

How Inkjet printers and Laser printers work?

While working for my previous post on inkjet printers and the paper, I did a search in google search engine. I've forgotten what I typed, but as far as I remember it was about "printer parts". I came across a link to HowStuffWork website. It's also one of my favorite websites where I can learn a lot of things. Here I would like to share the following links:
To learn about Inkjet Printers click here
To learn about Laser Printers, click here
By clicking on the two links provided, I believe that you would have better understanding on printers. Compare inkjet and laser printers.

Printer won't pull thick inkjet paper again

You probably met this problem and found that it's very frustrating when handling such problem. When I met this problem, I found that it's really annoying that the printer roller just won't pull the paper. No matter how many tries you have made whether by pushing from the top of the paper or bending the paper. (Paper here refers to special coated inkjet paper - whether thick or thin)

If you found such problem, you should consider trying another brand of paper. There are so many. Paper products are also categorized by price. You should not buy cheap and low quality inkjet paper which could probably cause this problem.

Another reason why this happen is that the part that keep the paper remain static in the tray is too tight, causing the paper has no space to move even a bit. Look carefully the process when your paper start going inside for printing. The paper would try to move itself a bit to the left. If it's held to tight in the tray, this problem will occur. I noticed this when I was printing using my Epson C110 inkjet printer with inkjet paper.

How to test your printing paper

After posting about "Four types of ink on inkjet printer", this time I would like to share a simple tip on testing paper quality. Actually this kind of test is very common. You can also try it with different kind of ink.

Inkjet printers usually print result usually stays longer on plain paper rather than on inkjet paper. This is because of the special coating on inkjet paper which is not heat proof. Not heat proof means that your paper printing result can't stay in high temperature or direct sunlight. This is like "oxygen" in oxygen water that can't stay in high temperature. In an air-conditioned room, the printing result can stay longer.

Here is a simple experiment you can do with different ink (like the four types mentioned on earlier post). Also try it with different inkjet paper or photo paper.

First, you need to print a picture on a several pieces of paper. Then put them in different environment. You can try putting them on an outdoor place to let it receive direct sunlight. You'll be able to see difference when printing with water based ink and dye based ink. Make the comparison and take down the number of days needed for the printed material to go fading. Different brand of paper also gives different result, so you have to experiment it yourself. Happy trying!

Four types of ink on inkjet printer

Printers are a need for every home and office use. So does paper. I believe that most of you use inkjet printers cause they are cheaper than laser printer and much better than dot matrix printers. Of course, with inkjet printer alone, you can't produce anything. You need something else, that is the paper (and another one is ink).

By using correct type of paper and good quality ink, you can produce very good printing result. Then the problem is how to test the ink and paper. As I know there are some types of ink that are used with printers. Water based ink, Dye based ink, Pigment ink and Fluorescent ink. The last one has ever been used since Canon released the product with BJC 1000 series. But I've never used such ink. The first three types of ink are quite common.

Water based ink seems to be quite low-cost in printing. Dye based are a bit higher in price but offer better quality. Pigment is probably the best. My friend told me that even pigment ink also categorized in kinds of price. Not all pigment ink is good. Cheap pigment ink has been proven to produce dull printing result (therefore the printing on paper is more durable)

I prefer using dye-based ink which is not very expensive but still can give good quality printing. This type of ink can produce good enough printing for photo paper or inkjet paper. But when you are using ink, you need to consider the paper, too. Using the right ink with the right paper can give out good quality printing. I think that's all for this post. I'll write about paper later on.
