Audicity is one of my favorite audio editing software. It's free and also very simple to use. It supports 3 main audio format, i.e. wave, mp3 and ogg vorbis. You can use this program to edit your audio files, record any sound from microphone or with line in from a tape recorder, or any players. So with this free program you can record your old audio tape to an audio file which you can record to a compact disc later on. You can also record your speech or anything you like to the three supported audio file.Like any other audio editing software, Audacity also enables you to edit the audio data, make selection and save the selected part to a new file.
