About "Ping"

Let me introduce one of my friends, called "Ping". A very good friend of mine. Ha...ha...ha...

Well, I'm just kidding. My blog is about computer, so I would of course tell you about computer.
Everytime, after updating my blog, I would do something for my blog. That is " P I N G "

"Ping" is a process to let search engines know that you have updated your site/blog. After "pinging" the search engines will index or save the changes of your blog or site in their database.

Making Crossword Puzzle

If you like crossword puzzles, you probably like this program.

Screen Hunter

Last time, I post about "zapgrab" a very simple program to capture screen. Yesterday, when I thought of posting my YouTube Downloader article, I got a problem. I couldn't capture any pop-up screen and mouse pointer with the "zapgrab". Then I thought of searching at www.download.com

Then I found a free capture program called Screen Hunter. This one seems to be more powerful as freeware. Then I used it to capture the pictures that you can see on the "YouTube Downloader" post, my previous post.

Downloading YouTube Videos

You can't download YouTube Video directly, because you need to download the YouTube downloader first.

It's easy. Just click on the link below and proceed the download.

When you have downloaded the program. Go to www.youtube.com and click your favorite video. You may use SEARCH.
Then you will see link of the video on the address bar. Copy the link from the address bar and paste it to your YouTube downloader. Click the picture on the right to see more clearly.

Then click Ok on the YouTube Downloader. It will start downloading.

YouTube Downloader is also a video converter. So, you can use it to convert your downloaded video to another format.

NB. You can use YouTube as a learning media site. For example: learning a foreign language. Make good use of YouTube!!!

A Small Eraser Solves Your Problem

Don't look down on a small eraser! It sometimes plays a big role in your process of fixing a computer.
If your computer seems to be broken, it just can't work, or it seems nothing happened when you turn it on. Or maybe you hear a long beep.

In this condition, don't panic. You can turn off the computer (if it's on but nothing is seen on the monitor) by pressing and holding the power button on the casing. Then when it's off, wait for about 1 minute to turn it on again. Sometimes, if you are lucky enough, it will be back to normal. But if you're not lucky, you may need to do something to make it back to normal. Sounds superstitious. Ha...ha...ha...


One thing I always do to solve the problem is opening the casing, and get the memory module (RAM) out. Then, I will clean it using a pencil eraser. Rub the eraser on the golden part of the RAM. Of course it should be a clean eraser. After cleaning it, fix it back and turn it on. This sometimes will solve the problem.



BUT I DIDN'T SAY THAT USING THAT ERASER WILL SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS, AS WE KNOW THAT TO FIX SOMETHING WE NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES ON. JUST DO WHEN YOU ARE SURE ENOUGH.

You may also use your camera phone to record the inside of your casing to make sure that you can fix it back.

If you hear one short beep, then it means your that it's in normal condition, but when nothing is on the screen when you turn on the monitor, the problem may be lies on the monitor.

It's better to try using the eraser under the guidance of an experience person.
